Duration : 4.23 Mins.Here is my new 1958 RCA Victor 6-EY-3A "Victrola" suitcase record player. It has an RP-190 changer mounted inside which is hooked up to a two-tube amplifier and a 6-inch speaker. Unfortunately, it has seen better days. A lot of the vinyl covering, or "wallpaper" as it's jokingly called, is coming off, and a long line of it from the "NIpper" logo all the way down to the feet is there, straight down to the wood. The platter turns, but the tonearm mechanism doesn't seem to want to work whatsoever. The record doesn't want to drop either. When I turn on the player, the speaker gives off a loud, uncontrollable hum. Simply means the condensers and filter need to be fixed, cleaned, or replaced. The tubes work great though! It has a tone control knob and a volume control knob next to the turntable. All in all, a very cool piece of 1950s history, and it will look and sound great once it's fixed. Enjoy!
